FAQ ABOUT OUR LESSONS…
Q: IS MY CHILD READY FOR MUSIC LESSONS?
A: We believe that musical learning can happen at any age. Our teachers are pros at creating age-appropriate lessons to further a child’s learning and love for music. Because every child is different, we look at things like attention span, development levels in speech and writing, and level of interest to gauge whether or not a child is ready to embark on their musical journey.
Q: WHAT IF WE NEED TO MISS A LESSON?
A: At Pave Creative, we understand that you’re in a busy season of life. That’s why we offer make-up lessons when given at least 24 hours notice to reschedule. Students can receive one make up credit each month. If you feel you would need to reschedule more frequently than that, I would recommend our DROP-IN LESSON option for even more flexibility.
Q: DO YOU HOST RECITALS?
A: Yes! We love seeing our student’s hard work come to fruition on stage. Because of the constant love our community shows us, we use our recitals as a way to raise money for local charities. Students have an opportunity to nominate a local charity when registering for our recitals, then all of the students vote on which organization will receive our donation. We love to involve the students in this process so they can feel that their music has meaning and can embrace the spirit of giving back.
Q: WHEN ARE YOU OPEN?
A: We have availability Monday through Saturday. Each teacher has different availability, so reach out to us to reserve your lesson time.
Q: WHAT IF WE NEED TO DISCONTINUE LESSONS?
A: We are a month-to-month commitment, with hopes that your child enjoys lessons so much, you struggle to get them to leave! If life gets in the way and you need to discontinue lessons with us, we just ask for a two-week notice so we can offer your lesson time to another student.
Q: HOW MUCH PRACTICE IS REQUIRED?
A: The short answer: none! We try to stay away from using the term “practice” because it makes music feel like a chore. And we strongly believe that music should always be fun! It is completely up to the student how quickly they would like to progress. We set goals in the very first lesson and create a path to help them achieve their goals. Because they enjoy the music they’re learning, they are more inclined to play music. Ask your child to perform what they’re learning, or to teach a family member how to play a song! Suddenly it doesn’t feel like a chore and instead they build confidence and learn to take pride in their learning. It’s a win/win!
